Situated in hill country in the heart of Tuscany, midway between Pisa and Florence, The Tuscan Word Centre is located in an old farmhouse sitting in 250 acres of woodland. The ancient city of Lucca is not far away, nor is the village of Vinci, where several museums are dedicated to its most famous son, Leonardo. Everywhere there are hill villages with olive groves, or villas and their vineyards.
There are international airports at Pisa and Florence, with frequent flights to major European cities.
It is often possible to pick up visitors at these airports, by prior arrangement.
By railThe two nearest towns served by rail are Pescia and Montecatini; a railway line connects these two cities with Pisa and Florence, trains run approximately hourly. It is often possible to pick up visitors at Pescia station, by prior arrangement; taxis are available at Montecatini Terme Station.
A11 connects Florence and Pisa; exits for TWC are Montecatini (from Florence);and Chiesina Uzzanese (from Pisa).
A1 connects Florence with Milan, Bologna and Rome.
